There are 27 players from Colorado on the Wyoming football roster. Fifteen have played and eight are starters.
One of those players not included is UW senior receiver Greg Bolling, who is from Aurora. He will play in his first game of the season after serving a two-game suspension for a violation of team rules. Bolling is expected to give the Cowboys a much-needed boost in speed, skill and athleticism. Bolling is a proven guy who led the team in catches, yards and receiving touchdowns last season.
CU also has a receiver in a similar situation in highly touted sophomore Markques Simas.
The 6-foot-2, 215 pound Simas was redshirted out of high school, spent a season academicially ineligible and missed the first two games this season — like Bolling — because of a violation of team rules. Simas is expected to play against UW and provide a potent three-headed monster at receiver for the Buffs along with Scotty McKnight and Jason Espinoza.

Robert Benjamin hopes he doesn’t see a lot of Jalil Brown during Saturday’s game.
Benjamin will make his third start at quarterback for the Cowboys. Brown is a junior cornerback for the Buffs who has staring experience but is listed as a back-up for this game.
Both were high school teammates for a season at South Mountain High in Phoenix. Brown was a senior when Benjamin was a sophomore.

Nothing earth-shattering occurred during Wednesday’s practice in Laramie.
One of the more fun drills to watch is a one-on-one matchup between the receivers and defensive backs. Bolling and sophomore cornerback Tashaun Gipson put on a good show. They went against each other three times and it ended in a draw — Bolling caught a pass, Gipson picked off a pass and another pass, which wasn’t well thrown, fell incomplete.
A scout from the Cleveland Browns was at practice.
Workers were taking down the temporary bleachers in the south end of the stadium. The ones in the north end have already been removed.

Thursday’s WTE is full of interesting UW-CU articles. Look for how two offensive line coaches are better than one for the Cowboys, how a receiver has been moved to running back and why Saturday’s game makes sense for both teams — and for others along the Front Range.
Also, I will be live blogging from Saturday’s game. The technical difficulties from last week have been fixed. Plan for the live blogging to begin around noon.
