UW-SDSU pre-game notes

About 15 minutes before the live blog starts from here in San Diego, and about 80 minutes until kickoff.

Couple of interesting notes leading up to the game:

–Sophomore punter Austin McCoy had some sort of throat surgery late this week. He missed Thursday’s practice but made the trip and is expected to play. Saw coach Dave Christensen in the hotel lobby this morning and he said it had something to do with a sports hernia of some sort.

–Sophomore linebacker Brian Hendricks (ankle) made the trip and the team will see how he does in pre-game warm-ups on whether or not to play him tonight. He is still listed as doubtful. Fellow sophomore Gabe Knapton (ankle) also made the trip and is expected to play in a backup role.

As for the starting lineup… that remains a mystery but expect UW to use both 3-4 and 4-3 schemes in tonight’s game.

Representatives from the Holiday, Poinsettia and New Mexico bowls are here.

Talk to you soon from the live blog.
