Scrambling to get some work done today before spending a little down time over Christmas, but before I do that I just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
And, also to thank all of those who have checked out this blog, participated in the live blogs and for the comments and feedback.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Robert:
I have enjoyed reading your blog. As a long ago transplanted fan of an SEC school (over 30 years) and having a son attend UW, I have become a UW fan and supporter.
I am still shocked at the lack of support that UW receives in attendence in games. UW needs to get more people at games if it would like to be invited to bowl games that have a bigger payout and if they hope to retain blunt raids on the coaching staff.
Has the school looked at doing promotions with the Fraternities, Sororities and other organizations (School of Law, Education, etc) that would encourage Alumni of those groups to come to a particular game? For example invite grads from a particular fraternity or sorority to come to campus on another date other than homecoming – give them a discounted ticket and some other amenities – possibly a spot at tailgate park, discount on parking, etc.
Keep up the good work.
Hello and Merry Christmas.
Thanks for the kind words on the blog and your interest.
The attendance thing to me has always been an up and down issue. I see what seems to be a lack of interest for some home games, but then the support is there when it comes to a bowl game or in other instances.
I know the university does some work with student orginazations over there with promotions and that, but not that much. I do know, however, that UW students have one of the best deals in the nation when it comes to how much they pay for athletic events. They are all included in their student fees, but they don’t have to buy tickets for anything unless it is a special game or event.
I do think it would benefit all if the university marketed its athletics department and teams more around the school itself and throughout the state.
Thanks again for your feedback. Take care.
