i have mixed feelings on this one. i have been a bsu fan since the dan hawkins days. but tcu is the best team ive seen in the mwc. this was a big step backwards for the conference. the bcs guys are loving this one. none of the other 4 bowl wins will mean anything. the mwc champ couldnt beat the best of the wac.
I agree that TCU losing was a big disappointment and even though it shouldn’t, it does seem to take away what the MWC did this season and in the other bowls.
But I pose this question? Would it have been worse if TCU lost to Boise State or to a BCS school in the Fiesta Bowl?

i think it would have been better to lose to a bcs school. if tcu had lost to florida 17-10 the conference would have held its cred. even a loss to cinnci., would have been better because nobody had any idea cinnci was a paper tiger till the gators ate them. as it is the bcs boys can still crow “who did you beat”.
True, but even if TCU had lost to Florida you would have heard the same thing Utah did last year: “Florida didn’t want to be there or lacked motivation to be there.” Maybe with the Tebow and Meyer deal that wouldn’t have been as strong, but it would have come up.
All good points. But you know what. If you took away the logos on the helmets and didn’t know any better, you would have thought those were two automatic qualifying BCS teams playing last night.
Good football is good football!
Thanks again for your interest!!

you are exactly right. but it was alabama who didnt show up. what we have here is a tcu team that didnt show up on the big stage against the wac. thats what the national boys are going to say. i agree: take away the logos and its 22 very talented kids chasing a ball that doesnt bounce right. but for the bcs and the national media, it was a perfect ending. the mwc champs wont get the props they would have gotten if they would have beaten or lost to a bcs school.
