Prep QB commits to UW

Quarterback Emory Miller from Horn High in Mesquite, Texas, verbally committed to play football for Wyoming Monday.

Miller visited UW last weekend.

The 5-10, 190-pound Miller threw for more than 5,000 yards and ran for more than 1,200 yards over his junior and senior seasons in high school. He threw for 22 touchdowns as a senior and 19 as a junior.

Miller is the second prep quarterback to commit to UW in its 2010 recruiting class.

Wondering if this is the smartest move…adding two QB’s rather than more offensive line (or other position). I understand there needs to be a backup for Samuels, but isn’t there already a QB on the roster from last year (or did all of those leave?)

There is only on QB other than Carta-Samuels on scholarship on the roster right now. That’s Dax Crum, who will be a senior. He started the 2008 season, but was fourth-string last season. The position needs depth. These two guys give them four on scholarship for 2010.

Already have four offensive linemen and seven defensive linemen as part of this class. I am hearing they will go after a receiver or DB with this last scholarship.
