UW-Washington State pregame

I’m high above here at Beasely Coliseum in Pullman, Wash., less than an hour before Wyoming and Washington State play in a second-round CBI game.

There is some pregame news.

First, I’ve been told if Wyoming wins tonight it will play at the winner of tonight’s Oregon State-TCU game Wednesday. That game is in Corvallis, Ore. Yes, even if TCU wins, UW goes back to Fort Worth for a second time this season. Was told TCU outbid UW for that game.

Heard the CBI folks like a possible TCU-Pitt match-up in the finals with TCU going to the Big 12 next year and Pitt in the Big East.

Second, true freshman forward Tyrone Marshall is not here, and was told coach Larry Shyatt will talk about it after the game. Marshall, a 6-foot-8 forward from Denver, has played in only nine games and has played no more than four minutes seven of those games.

There posts on his Twitter account that led one to believe he may transfer from UW. Hopefully Shyatt will shed some light on that after the game.

Slow arriving crowd trickling in here, and as I look around the arena I count five Wyoming fans.
