The full team — newcomers included — have been on campus for about a week.
Shyatt said the new freshmen — point guard Trey Washington and forwards Keonta Vernon and Alan Herndon — and senior wing Jerron Granberry are in better shape than he expected since the arrived. They still have a lot to learn, but Shyatt likes their physical condition at this point.
Nance said he is up to about 225 pounds, which is 10 pound more than his listed playing weight last season. Shyatt said Nance has added 18 pounds of “good weight” since UW’s last game against Western Michigan in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational on March 25.
