Wyoming’s second practice of fall camp was held Tuesday morning at the North 40 practice fields on campus.
Like Monday’s first practice, the Cowboys were in helmets and shorts.
Here are some video highlights from the first 30 minutes media are allowed to watch practice.
Redshirt freshman running back Milo Hall was back at practice. He missed Monday’s workout because he attended the funeral of his brother, who was shot and killed recently in Denver.
Another UW running back, Kellen Overstreet, will be redshirted this season. Overstreet played last season as a true freshman. He had 16 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown, and also played a lot of special teams. He injured the ACL in a knee on special teams in the season-finale last season against UNLV.
Third-year coach Craig Bohl said Monday during UW fall sports media day activities that redshirt senior walk-on Du’Ryan Ebbesen is the primary candidate to be the team’s starting center. Ebbesen, who is from the U.S. Virgin Islands and graduated from high school at Cheyenne Central, took most of the center snaps during the spring.
But if Ebbesen can’t get the job done, UW may move senior guard Chase Roullier to center. Roullier was a preseason All-MW pick. Roullier said that moving to center wouldn’t be a big deal if it happens. UW offensive line coach Scott Fuchs said Roullier will move to center if necessary, and if he feels good about finding a replacement for Roullier at left guard.
Guys who will get some looks at center along with Ebbesen and Roullier appear to be redshirt freshman walk-on Boyd Draeger, sophomore offensive guard Cole Turner and junior offensive guard Kurtis Stirneman.
Working on a story on UW’s defense and its inability to force turnovers the last couple of years. Last season it forced just 10. Why was that the case and how can that change this season? See that story Wednesday in the Wyoming Tribune Eagle and Laramie Boomerang and at wyosports.net.
Bohl talks about that a little but, and other things he thought stood out from Tuesday practice in this post-practice interview.
