Nap time for the Cowboys

One of the many things required by Wyoming’s football players this season includes a nap.

Coach Dave Christensen was asked if the late start for Saturday’s Mountain West opener at Air Force (8:15 p.m.) will alter the team’s game day routine on Saturday.

“That’s what they do now because we practice in the mornings,” coach Dave Christensen said. “That’s early in their night, so we will give them their nap during the day like they normally take. Other than that, everything is business as usual.”

Would we all like to have a time of the day where we’re required to take a nap? I know I would take it.

Some other news and notes from Wednesday morning’s practice:

— Three backup offensive linemen continued to get work with the first team: sophomore center Rafe Kiely, redshirt freshman left guard Chase Roullier and sophomore right guard Austin Traphagan, who also can play tackle. They replaced junior center Albert Perez, senior left guard Tyler Strong and sophomore right guard Jake Jones, who were at practiced but didn’t participate much. “They’re doing a good job,” Christensen said. “We are still working some guys back in but we should be full go on Saturday.”
